3. Sell off Unwanted things to pay off debt

Another way of reducing debt is to sell off things that you have not used in a long time. If there are some things in the home that aren’t being used anymore but are in good condition, these can be sold off for extra cash instead of letting them sit at home without being used. This can be done by offering this to a pawnshop, consignment shop, garage sale or selling on Ebay. There are many places where you can sell this unwanted stuff and it just takes some time to find out which is the best. These things maybe unwanted to you but it could be of some use to others.

4. Reduce luxury to reduce credit card debt

Avoid spending money on luxuries like going to expensive restaurants – eat more often at home. Avoid watching movies in theaters instead rent movies to watch it at home with the family. Reduce number of travel vacations instead take less travel vacations. This is great way to reduce credit debt.

5. Moonlighting - Get a second job. Tiring but can reduce credit debt

Although this may be tiring, the extra cash can help the employee pay off the monthly amortization on time thus reducing any penalties. If you really want to reduce credit debt, then it is worth getting a second job. 6. Debt Consolidation to Reduce Credit Card Debt

This may have some negative impact on your credit score but it is better than applying for bankruptcy. There are many debt consolidation companies, so research them and try to work with some of the non-profit debt consolidation companies. They will reduce your interest rate and setup affordable monthly payments.

7. Bankruptcy to reduce debt and get a second chance

Some people who have tried all the possible means to reduce credit card debt and have no other choice but to file for bankruptcy. This may offer the person some protection against the creditors but the borrower will be on the blacklist for the next 7 to 10 years making it difficult to get a loan in the future.

After bankruptcy, the credit rating can be built again by starting from scratch so that banks can give the individual a second chance.
